The Ford Motor Company introduced their concept E-Bike at this years Frankfurt Motor Show, the company's first ever electric bicycle. The electric bike (or pedelec, as the category of bike has come to be known) sports the Gates Carbon Belt system with an electric motor built into the front hub which allows it to move up to 25 km/h on a 9.2Ah battery. Unfortunately, according to Ford the E-Bike, a thoroughly innovative addition to the electric bicycle market with a less than extraordinary name, will remain a concept, as they have no plans of bringing it into production.
