The son of Ford Motor Co's founder Henry Ford, Edself Ford didn't have the best reputation when it came to building cars branded with the Edsel name. His personal automobile collection however, was a different story. One of those cars was the 1934 Model 40 Special Speedster. The sports car, which he personally commisioned, drew its inspiration from the European auto designs of the late 30's and early 40's and was brought to life by designer E.T. Gregorie. The body is based on the frame of Ford's 1934 frame but  was painstakingly made longer and lower. After seeing many owners, the car has recently been restored to its original condition, specs and all. It is reportedly as close as one will find to a authentic 1940 Ford model anywhere. A price for the historical ride is still yet to be determined.
