Tesla wants to unveil an alpha of the Model X crossover in December and launch the car in 2013. This is way ahead of schedule, but out of the mouth of a somewhat unreliable man. Elon Musk is at lease tempering his optimism with some reality though. He may say that he wants to fill the NUMMI plant's 500,000 unit yearly capacity, but he's only hoping for 15,000 yearly from the Model X. Given the SUV related problems of excess weight and poor aerodynamics and how they will aggravate the range issues with electric cars, you can color us skeptical.
