Pagani was banking on getting a "financial hardship" exception, just like Tesla and Lamborghini, to get the homologation to sell the Huayra in the USA. There's an airbag that would have cost $5.7 million to develop that the DOT just won't let the car into the states without, and Pagani, which operates without credit and on a cash-on-hand basis, simply cannot afford this. This is a very sad moment. On the bright side, we don't have to figure out how to pronounce "Huayra."
