Quick: Somebody give whoever runs the PR department over at NuVo Condoms a raise! With little to no fanfare surrounding Jim Thome hitting his historic 600th home run last night, the company jumped at the opportunity to get some free press today by pulling one of the strangest publicity stunts of all-time—mailing Thome a box filled with 600 condoms to celebrate the occasion.
Er, okay! Thome is a 40-year-old man with a wife and two kids, so we're not exactly sure if he wants/needs/has any desire to get 600 condoms sent his way.
