The Signature Plays of Rajon Rondo's Career (Video)

Highlighting the Celtic point guard's all-time greatest moves.

Will tonight be the last night of the Boston Celtics' recent mini-dynasty? Not if Rajon Rando can help it. Playing with essentially one arm on Saturday night, Ray-Ron (copyright?) willed Boston to a W. But the Celts are on the ropes, down 3-1 as they prep for Game 5 tonight at 7:00 PM ET in Miami. Whether they extend the series tonight or clean out their lockers tomorrow, Rondo has established himself as one of the premier points in the game (if dude could shoot a bit better, he might be the premier point in the game, and these are the signature plays of his career.

"Okie Doke"

DATE: 5/22/2010
COMPLEX SAYS: Rondo took his rep national with plays like this in last year's Eastern Conference Finals, bringing back a bit of the old school to make a few Magic vets look like rookies. Bring back the headband!

"Breaks Nash's Legs"

DATE: 3/26/2008
COMPLEX SAYS:  People don't give Rondo's handle enough respect. Best believe Nash does. Forget ankles, he broke dude's shins. Oh Canada, Oh Canada!

"Cookies"

DATE: 3/13//2009
COMPLEX SAYS:  Creating havoc is what he does best. Here he picks the Juice's pockets, hits them with the okie and then finishes them with the behind the back dime.

"Shits on Maxiell"

DATE: 3/5/2008
COMPLEX SAYS:  Rondo doesn't give out too many facials but this one is a doozy. Hold up, wait, what? Yup, that just happened. Yahhh, trick, yahhh!

"24 Assist Game vs. Knicks"

DATE: 10/29/2010
COMPLEX SAYS: What is it with the Knickerbockers and giving up career highs? It ain't D'Antoni, we blame Zeke! So Knicks fans, how long until Rondo's contract expires? #keepdreamin

"Breaking Cleveland's Heart"

DATE: 5/8/2010
COMPLEX SAYS: Lost amid the Cleveland Cavaliers' and LeBron James' playoff failure last year is the fact that LBJ and the Cavs were actually up on the Celtics 2-1 in the East Semis, and had handed Boston its worst playoff loss ever in Game 3. But then Rajon Rondo had his coming out party, going for a triple double in Game 4, and perhaps prompting LeBron to consider that Mo Williams might not be the point guard he wanted to spend the next decade with.

"The Dream Shake"

DATE: 6/6/2010
COMPLEX SAYS: Turns out Hakeem Olajuwon's signature move works for little guys as well (extremely talented little guys that is). In Game 2 of the Finals last year, Rondo pulled the ol' "Oh you want this?" on Andrew Bynum. Big dude nearly got faked out of his shirt!

"Rondo Knows"

DATE: 12/8/2010
COMPLEX SAYS: This guy. Rajon needs a nickname or at least one of those JKidd American Express commercials. He hits Jesus with a Houdini pass that would make Bob Cousy proud.

"Skater's World"

DATE: Summer 2007
COMPLEX SAYS:  This is sort of like Hershel Walker taking ballet classes while he was a RB in the NFL. This probably explains Rondo's fluidity and fancy footwork on the court. Stop frontin', you know ATL was your shit on the low. Don't judge him. Judge this guy.

"The Elbow Game"

DATE: 5/7/2011
COMPLEX SAYS: After a gruesome dislocation of his left elbow, Rondo and the Celtics were staring at a 3-0 deficit vs. the Heat last Saturday. Rajon pulled a Willis Reed and played the rest of the way with one hand to will his team to victory. If Boston pulls this series out, this will go down as a classic moment in Beantown sports history.
