AGE: 26 (May 24 1959 – November 12, 1985)
CAUSE OF DEATH: Car accident
COMPLEX SAYS: In only five seasons-career with the Flyers, Lindbergh was named goalie of the 1983 NHL All-Rookie team, became the first European goaltender to win the Vezina Trophy in 1985, and rocked a badass goalie mask during his career. After leaving a team gathering in New Jersey during the 1985-86 season Lindbergh was killed as he crashed his car while driving intoxicated. He was posthumously voted to that year's All-Star team and the Flyers named their annual most improved player award after him.
