A U.S. Aircraft Carrier Is Set to Host a College Basketball Game Next Season

With everything that's going on in the NBA Playoffs, college basketball is just about the last thing on our minds right now. But here's a pretty cool story that's already got us thinking ahead to next season: The University of North Carolina and Michigan State University just agreed to play in the Carrier Classic on November 11, 2011—on the deck of a United States military aircraft carrier. The exact carrier is still TBD, but it'll be positioned in a harbor in San Diego and will host about 7,000 fans for the game. Tickets won't be sold to the public but the game will be broadcast on ESPN. Bet all those UNC kids are glad they came back now, eh? [via ESPN]
