There's nothing new about ABC's wildly-popular Dancing With The Stars sending out invitations to NFL players. From Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice to Kurt Warner and Chad Ochocinco, there have been a handful of gridiron greats that have traded in their training gear for a tuxedo to participate on DWTS. But the latest selection is a bit of a head-scratcher: Hines Ward. Aside from the fact that Ward doesn't have the household name—or the charisma—of any of the guys listed above, he also plays for one of the most blue-collar teams in the NFL and doesn't seem like the type of guy who'd be into spending his offseason doing the waltz. George Blanda, Mike Webster, Myron Cope and anyone else who's ever been affiliated with the black-and-yellow must be rolling over in their graves. [via Shutdown Corner]
