A few days back, we brought you news about a Twitter-suggested plan for erecting a Robocop statue in Detroit; a venture quickly nixed by Mayor Dave Bing. Well apparently Motor City residents have been fired-up from all the Egypt coverage and decided to rise up. After a deluge of negative @s and RTs fired back at Bing, a small organization named Omni Consumer Products dropped the bomb by stepping up with a $25,000 funding donation.
OCP's contribution puts the project's funding in the green, so if Bing wants the support of the people, it looks like he better get onboard with the idea.
