And the saga continues! While every other major sport in the world has implemented some form of instant replay at this point, soccer remains stuck in the Stone Age and refuses to do anything about it. The latest snag? FIFA turning down not one...not two...not three...but nearly a dozen different companies who were asked to come up with a system to help referees detect whether a goal was actually a goal in less than a second. None of the systems that were designed met FIFA's criteria and, as a result, soccer's still stuck without the most basic form of instant replay that they could possibly adopt.
