Why shop when you're in Arizona for Spring Training? Maybe you you need a new tee 'cause you got a little excited when the Cubs eighth-string centerfielder hit a homer and spun your other one around like a helicopter. Maybe you're just an old school vinyl junkie looking for some deals you can't find in NYC or San Francisco. Maybe you want some exotic foods for a little desert picnic. Whatever the reason, let us tell you where to shop in Phoenix and Tucson...

High Point, Phoenix
7135 East Camelback Road (Scottsdale)
(480) 949-0500
highpointshoes.com
• Owned by Arizona Cardinals All-Pro safety Adrian Wilson, High Point is the go-to high-end streetwear spot in AZ. Actually, the only streetwear spot in AZ: they hold the state's lone accounts for BBC, Ice Cream, Acapulco Gold, and a half dozen other brands.

Toxic Ranch Records, Tucson
424 East 6th Street
(520) 623-2008
toxicranchrecords.com
• Tucson's got a proud and longstanding punk tradition, and even in the age of iPods and iTunes, Toxic Ranch holds it down for those that prefer a little brick and mortar (not to mention vinyl and plastic).

Eastside Records
217 West University Drive (Tempe)
(480) 968-2011
• A vinyl oasis in the middle of the desert, Eastside is part of a still vibrant record store scene in Tempe (home to Arizona State University), that's nonetheless been pushed off the main South Mill Avenue drag. While you're in the neighborhood, hit up Memory Lane and Hoodlums as well.

Revolver Records, Phoenix
918 North 2nd Street
(602) 795-4980
• Part of a fledgling group of boutique businesses in downtown Phoenix, and is another vinyl emporium in the Valley of the Sun. A great way to spend an afternoon if you don't feel like watching baseball or getting drunk. On second thought, there's no baseball, but we imagine the owners wouldn't mind if you brought your own hooch.

17th Street Farmer's Market, Tucson
840 East 17th Street
(520) 792-2588
• Tucson's funkiest food market has exotic fruits and veggies, plus fresh meat and seafood from around the world. Maybe you can't fix Gulf Oysters in your hotel room (but maybe you should), but the makings for a picnic on the fly (cheese, cold cuts, etc.) are readily available.
