WHEN: March 10, 2004
WHY IT WAS SO HARD: Bertuzzi apologized for his sucker punch on
Avalanche center Steve Moore, which resulted in a concussion, fractured
vertebrae, and ligament damage along Moore's spine. Bertuzzi's hit on Moore was retaliation for Moore's illegal head check on Canucks captain
Markus Nasland three weeks earlier. Bertuzzi's waterworks couldn't save him
from being suspended form the league for over a year and being charged with
assault causing bodily harm, resulting in one year's probation.
