LEAD
How many Christmas gifts do you get every year that get tossed into a closet or just flat out returned? All of them? Well, step up, and cut down on this occurrence by straight up asking for stuff! Don't know what you want? That's why we're here.

Gifts are great when they go together, and asking for entry-level sports setups are a sure thing (with little mess up potential). This Christmas (or Hanukkah - 2 more nights!) tell your fam you want to learn a new sport. Send them the link to this post and help them help you get into golf, hockey, snowboarding, and sledding. You've always wanted to try but never had the gear, right? Go in!

HOCKEY

ICE HOCKEY
• Hockey requires some balance and hand eye coordination, so if you haven't gotten that new Tony Hawk game mastered, maybe wait a little while. If you are slightly athletic, though, this sport is the perfect way to destroy cabin fever blues. The Sports Authority is a one stop shop for everything you need (for most sports actually), and is the place to get a great entry-level setup.

GOLF

GOLF
• Golf is traditionally a sport played by WASPs and bankers, but more and more people are getting into every year because it is awesome, and because that's where the big deals get done. How many other sports take all day, require you to hang out with three of your friends, and let you drink beer? Basketball doesn't count.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SNOWBOARDING

SNOWBOARDING
• Snowboarding is like skateboarding, but it's easier and hurts less. Don't worry, though, it's not as bad as Rollerblading. As long as you do it on actual mountains (instead of in the city) no one will make fun of you, and you will have an absolute blast.

SLEDDING

SLEDDING
• Sledding is awesome for a number of reasons, the most important of which is that it requires the least amount of actual talent or skill of all the snow sports. All you need to get it poppin' is a hill, some snow, a sled, and a little bit of craziness.
