With Adventureland opening this weekend, we're feeling nostalgic for those warm weather trips to the amusement park. It doesn't matter how old you are, they're always a sure shot for a good time. That is, if you enjoy scaring yourself half to death on roller coasters, mid-air swings and other rides that seem to defy physics. And no matter how crazy the ride is, most of us just hop on and cross our fingers, hoping that nothing goes wrong.

According to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), the chance of an injury occurring in a park is 1 in 9 million. Not bad.
