In addition to the “Dunk Contest” EQT Elevation that Kobe Bryant wore at the 1997 NBA All-Star Dunk Contest, there’s another Adidas Kobe shoe returning to stores soon.
That pair is the “Sunshine” Adidas Crazy 1 pictured here, which was formerly known as The Kobe. The forthcoming release is essentially an exact copy of the original 2001 release. Bryant’s signature shoe was modeled after the Audi TT Roadster sports car, which takes form with the upper’s bulky design. This pair dons a predominantly yellow color scheme that’s coupled with a black bootie on the ankle and a grey EVA foam midsole.
News about the return of Adidas Kobe sneakers was first reported by Complex Sneakers in July 2021, which revealed that this “Sunshine” Adidas Crazy 1 will be released sometime in April to coincide with the McDonald’s All-American Game. Despite the reports, official release details for the shoe have not yet been announced by Adidas, but check back soon to Sole Collector for updates.
UPDATE (10/19): Initially slated to release in April, Adidas has now confirmed that this year’s “Sunshine” Crazy 1 will be released on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Adidas.com for $140.
