Kanye West recently chopped it up with Hood By Air founder Shayne Oliver for Interview magazine. While a majority of the interview centered around West praising Oliver's past work with Hood By Air and Helmut Lang and hailing him as the future of streetwear, Ye also made note of his own situation with Adidas

The moment came when West was dicussing his belief that Oliver had been appointed as the new creative director of Helmut Lang (it turned out to be a one-off collection he designed for the brand) back when the news of his involvement first surfaced.

"It’s interesting to me when you get these situations, because, like, I’ve been fighting and struggling and arguing and talking and having conversation after conversation about being the creative director of Adidas," said West. "It’s just fucking obvious, right?"

Oliver and West's conversation quickly switched back to the designer's aformentined work with Helmut Lang, so Yeezus was unable to fully expand the "fighting" he has been doing to acquire the position.

He has been with the Three Stripes since 2013 at the helm of the massively successful line of Adidas Yeezy sneakers. Many have even credited the hype West was able to bring to the brand when he made the jump from Nike as a main reason for its spike in popularity (aka the "Kanye Effect"). Both parties cemented their future relationship further in 2016 when the brand announced a long-term partnership with the 41-year old.

Adidas has not responded to Complex's request for comment regarding Ye's recent statement at this time.
