Jordan Brand has been looking for ways to use the DNA of classic Air Jordan silhouettes on brand new creations for the past few years. Some examples include the Air Jordan 31, 32, and 33 that brought subtle elements from the Air Jordan 1, 2, and 3 onto modern performance basketball sneakers. Other ideas like the 88 Racer were more puzzling executions that answered the question, "What if this timeless basketball sneaker was turned into a lightweight runner?" The brand new Jordan 89 Racer falls into the latter category.

Like the aforementioned 88 Racer, this new silhouette takes the "White Cement" Air Jordan 4 and turns it into a seamless running shoe. All of the major details are accounted for like the model's signature tongue tag, triangular straps, heel tab, mesh window on the mid panels, and cement print. The upper sits atop a midsole unit borrowed from the Nike Flyknit Racer

Anyone who wasn't content with a regular Air Jordan 4 and wants to get their hands on the Jordan 89 Racer will need to be patient. An exact release date and pricing have yet to be announced.
