J. Crew x New Balance 998 'Condiments'

On the heels of July 4 celebrations and perhaps America's most shameful tradition, the Coney Island hot dog eating contest (where world champion eater Joey Chestnut smashed the record with 74 hotdogs), New Balance and men's fashion staple J. Crew have a special colorway coming out that pays homage to the tradition of calmly enjoying a hot dog on America's birthday instead of devouring 74 in 10 minutes.

The collaboration features New Balance's American-made 998 silhouette, one of the brand's more popular looks and a frequent model of choice of J. Crew. This special iteration features a variety of elements that reference enjoying the day with some good BBQ and the condiments that come with it. The suede sneaker's color blocking represents different condiments with red representing ketchup, green for pickle relish, and yellow for mustard.

The J. Crew x New Balance collab drops online tomorrow, July 12 at jcrew.com and with special packaging at select locations.
