The 2018 Prefontaine Classic goes down this weekend in Eugene, Oregon, pitting the country's best track and field athletes against each other in a variety of competitions. For high jump specialist and Jordan athlete Erik Kynard, the brand's given its Air Jordan 3-inspired Zoom Tenacity 88 runner a wild makeover.

The Jordan Tenacity 88 "Pre Classic" spike covers the elephant print-adorned upper in a 50/50 split between infrared and volt—infrared on the lateral side of the left shoe and vice versa. More than just a jarring design, the colorway takes a page from the Nike Zoom Jasari spike from 1996, which saw plenty of action during that summer's Olympics in Atlanta.

A non-spike version of the "Pre Classic" Jordan Tenacity 88 will be released Friday, May 25, exclusively in Eugene.
