After OG-style retros of the "Metallic Navy" and "Metallic Red"Air Jordan 1s in 2016 and 2017, respectively, Jordan Brand will reportedly revisit the sheen-covered sneakers again this year.
According to @pinoe77, the "Metallic Purple" Air Jordan 1 is next in line for a retro. Last seen in 2009 as an international-exclusive release, this style follows the pattern of other "Metallic" colorways with a white leather base and shiny purple material across the collar underlay and Swoosh logo.
While the 2009 iteration received mixed reactions for its use of Jumpman branding, this 2018 update should satisfy purists, as it is said to feature OG details. Note that the version pictured above is the 2009 variation.
An official release date hasn't been locked in, but pinoe77 says to expect a Quickstrike launch later in 2018.
