After a handful of leaks in recent weeks, Jordan Brand has now confirmed the official details for the upcoming Air Jordan 1 High OG "Best Hand in the Game" collection.
According to the brand, the playing card details on this collection are inspired by milestone achievements in Michael Jordan's career. The group is made up of four OG-style Jordan 1s with color blocking reminiscent of the popular "Black Toe" and Fragment iterations. Each makeup features suede Swooshes and heels, and insoles with card graphics tied to specific moments in MJ's on-court legacy.
While the official description doesn't make a mention of MJ's love for gambling, the connections to Jordan's highly-publicized habit—in which he once reportedly dropped over a million on golf—are hard to ignore.
According to Jordan Brand, the collection "will release separately in different global regions on May 5," however specifics regarding which shoe will release in which region were not provided.
UPDATE (04/23): Despite an original release date of May 5, both the "Blue Moon" and "Clay Green" colorways have been moved up to May 1. Both will releasing at Nike SNKRS and other select retailers.
UPDATE (04/24): After a bit of shuffling, it appears the details have been finalized for the launch of the "Best Hand in the Game" collection. The Tuesday, May 1 release date is now a lock for all four colorways, with regional releases as follows: "Blue Moon" and "Clay Green" in North America, "Clay Green" and "Track Red" in Greatest China, and "Track Red" and "Yellow Ochre" in Europe, Middle East, and Africa as well as Asia Pacific and Latin America.
The "Blue Moon" colorway is said to be a reference to MJ's 14 consecutive All-Star Game appearances and features a straight flush on the right insole.
