Since its debut in 2016, the Adidas AlphaBounce has remained a solid and affordable alternative to the brand's more pricey Boost models like the NMD and Ultra Boost. Despite going through some material swaps, the original silhouette has remained the same. Now, Adidas is debuting its first update to the original model, the AlphaBounce Beyond.

This upgraded silhouette is designed to be a versatile, running-first trainer. At first glance, the Beyond still keeps the same basic DNA of the original, but a closer look will showcase some of the performance improvements made to the silhouette. For starters, the midsole of the shoe is now wider and there are forged zones to provide better multi-directional movement. It also sports a Continental rubber outsole for maximum traction on any surface.

The debut colorway will utilize a black, grey, and white color palette. The color blocking was chosen to highlight certain areas of the shoe that went through the most stress during wear testing.

The Adidas AlphaBounce Beyond is set to debut on Jan. 17 at adidas.com and select retailers for $120. Expect more new colorways to hit shelves in February.
