The idea of auto-lacing sneakers may have been created in 1989's Back to the Future: Part II, but it didn't become a reality until last year. The original sneakers, the Hyperadapt 1.0, was designed by Tinker Hatfield and Tiffany Beers to be a multi-purpose shoe, but Hatfield has confirmed that the technology will soon hit the hardwood of the NBA.

In a recent interview with High Snobiety in London, Hatfield says, "There is a 2.0, and it's specific to basketball. And we think it's going to be one of the best basketball shoes ever. And that's our goal, at any rate. It's been in development for quite some time."

Hatfield goes on to say, "We really don't know when it's going to hit the market or be in the NBA, but it will be there."
