With all due respect to Reebok, Kendrick Lamar should have never slipped past Nike as a celebrity endorser. The organic move of making him a Cortez pitchman was there for the taking, and he somehow ended up trying to convince the world that Classic Leathers were the move. That's no longer the case, as the Reebok deal is a thing of the past and a union with Nike has apparently been confirmed.
Earlier today, Kendrick used his social media channels to make the subtle announcement. Along with an image of him wearing the Cortez, he added the hash tag #TeamNike.
In his heralded "Control" verse, Kendrick famously proclaimed, "And I ain't rockin' no more designer sh*t, white tees and Nike Cortez, this red Corvette's anonymous." Now, following a brief detour, that may now be a reality.
