Addressing Walmart employees before the company's annual shareholder meeting last week, chief merchandising officer Steve Bratspies stepped on stage wearing a pair of light-up sneakers, a trend he says the company is betting on big this year.

In fact, Walmart expects to sell $25 million worth of the Flashlights sneaker, a USB-charged model that connects with phones and computers. When charged, LED lights can stay lit for up to 8 hours. They retail for $19.97, which means Walmart would have to sell 1.25 million pairs to hit the estimate.

According to the Washington Post's report, Bratspies brought up the fact that similar sneakers by big national brands are selling for about $60 a pair. “We beat on price, don’t we?” he said. “Every day, we beat on price.”

The Flashlights sneakers will release in grey, white, black and glittery pink in July.
