Adidas has a rich heritage in running and the Three Stripes is looking to make history again with its latest sneaker — the Adidas Adizero Sub2. Designed to enable runners to break the formidable two-hour marathon time barrier, the Adizero Sub2 will be debuted by  former world record holder and Adidas athlete Wilson Kipsang at the Tokyo Marathon this Sunday.

The Adidas Adizero Sub2 is a culmination of the brand's best, most up to date technologies. It's lightweight design is attributed to a single layer ultra light mesh upper and all-new Boost Light midsoles. Boost Light is the brand’s lightest foam ever and retains the industry-leading energy return that has powered adidas athletes to world records.

“I have a great history with adidas and it’s an honor to be the first person to wear the Adizero Sub2,” said Wilson Kipsang. “Boost was a game changer for me. After working with Adidas on Boost Light, I’m absolutely ready to get out on the course in Tokyo and show the world what we can do.”

For now, Kipsang own the only pair of Adidas Adizero Sub2s in a bold "Energy Blue" colorway. A retail release will take place some time later this year. Stay posted to Sole Collector for future updates.
