Dr. Martens Announce Their New Ultra Lightweight 'DM's Lite' Collection

Fall/Winter 16, Dr. Martens are dropping a new lightweight evolution of some of their classic silhouettes.

Dr. Martens is undoubtedly one of the most iconic footwear brands around. Since they were first made in the 1960s, the brand's shoes have been worn by everyone from postmen to punks. Now, for Fall/Winter 16, Dr. Martens are dropping a new evolution of some of their classic silhouettes: the lightweight 'DM's Lite' range. This new evolution is going to be seen in remakes of three of the brand’s best-known styles: the 8-eye boot (Newton), the 3-eye shoe (Cavendish) and the tassel loafer (Edison).

The shoes have all got new Phylon midsoles, which gives them the new lightweight feel, rubber outsoles that are both lightweight and tough, and SoftWair memory foam insoles that make sure the DM's Lite have still got the comfort that has always made the shoes so well loved and well-worn.

Although this is Dr. Martens biggest tech shift since the original air cushioned soles of the 1960s, the new DM's Lite have kept most of what made them so iconic in the first place. As well as being classic silhouettes, they also feature the classic yellow stitching and grooved sidewall. The DM's Lite come in the two core colour ways most associated with Dr. Martens, black and cherry red, as well as with the new features and finishes.
