Dungeon Family alum and one of the most underrated rappers of his time, Killer Mike is leading an initiative that calls for people to open $100 checking accounts in black-owned banks in an effort to empower African American communities. Thus far, the call to action has yielded huge results, with some banks reporting as much as $10 million moved in the past month. Despite the success of the movement, Mike isn't taking his foot off the gas — in fact, he's rasing the stakes.

In an Instagram post earlier today, Mike challenged Michael Jordan to take the money made from sales of the "Gold Medal" Air Jordan 5 Retro, releasing Aug 20, and deposit it into a black-owned bank.

"We know that with your example other players will follow," said Mike in the caption. "I'm sure Jim Brown, Kareem & Bill Russell will agree. Love ya man. U truly were/are the greatest."

More constructive than critical, Mike commended Jordan's recent $1 million donations to the International Association of Chiefs of Police’s Institute for Community-Police Relations and NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
