As a reminder of how Senators dressed in pre-air conditioning times, Republican Senator Trent Lott of Mississippi introduced Seersucker Thursday to Congress in 1996. The annual tradition calls for Senators to show up dressed in their best seersucker attire on National Seersucker Day.

Taking part in the unorthodox holiday, retailer Sneaker Politics has linked up with Reebok to put a seersucker spin on the Instapump Fury. The runner is styled in white leather and striped seersucker cotton, with a gum rubber outsole capping off the southern style.

Sizes 3-13 are available for $130 now at sneakerpolitics.com.
