Here's the First Look at the "Red/Black" Air Jordan IX Retro Low

Jordan Brand revisits the Motorboat Jones theme with its latest IX Lows.

The Air Jordan IX  has been generating quite a bit of buzz over the past few weeks. With the upcoming release of the IX Low "Snakeskin," word of the O.G. "White/Varsity Red/Black" colorway dropping this holiday season and the recent news of the Pantones, the IXs are primed to be a major player in 2016. Adding to the buzz behind the IXs, new images have surfaced of another potential release.

Courtesy of zsneakerheadz on Instagram, images have surfaced of another IX Retro. This latest iteration features solid red color blocking with black utilized on the shoes's tongue, laces, and inner lining. Another color pop is seen on the back heel as the Jumpman globe logo is treated in a shade of neon green. Initially, some fans might view these as a lowtop version of the "Motorboat Jones" release from 2012. But aesthetically, as far as color blocking is concerned, the shoes more closely resemble the extremely rare 2015 PSNY x Air Jordan X Retro "Friends and Family" edition which was limited to 50 pairs.

As with most early previews, no concrete information is available, but zsneakerheadz did mention a possible release in May or June.
