At the beginning of 2015, we told you that the adidas Superstar was poised for a huge year. If for some reason you thought it was an exaggeration, the final numbers are now in, and they're even bigger than we could've imagined.

The adidas Group has just released its 2015 Annual Report, which is loaded with insights on its biggest releases of the year including its collaborations with Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, and Parley for the Oceans. High-profile collabs aside, the most jaw-dropping figure here has to be the sales performance of the retro Superstar.

According to the press release, adidas sold more than 15 million pairs of Superstars in 2015, making it its top-selling sneaker of the year. This was due in large part to an aggressive marketing campaign around the sneaker which saw a number of collections designed in collaboration with Pharrell.
