To honour the brand's 50th anniversary, soon releasing is the 'Checkered Past' collection, an ode to the much loved checkerboard motif.
Launching through premium label, Vault by Vans, the checker board is a 'sacred emblem' in Van’s storied 50-year history, so to produce a collection that will turn out anything less than great would be considered sacrilege. Thankfully the Checkered Past collection honours the beloved motif in the proper way, utilising an intricate process of woven premium leather on the iconic silhouettes of the Classic Slip-On and the Sk8-Hi, we are treated to a refreshing new take on a beloved classic. The various colourways in both models cater for those looking for something that oozes simplicity and for those craving something of the more garish nature. Additionally the collection will also feature two Leather Checker Backpacks, one a in traditional black and white woven pattern and the other in a multi-coloured woven scheme.
Vault by Vans will be releasing the Checkered Past collection on March 16 (Van’s 50th Birthday) at select retailers across the globe including: Colette, Dover Street Market, Cali Roots, End, Foot Patrol, Goodhood, Hanon, Slamjam and Sneakersnstuff.
