Bayern Munich standout Jérôme Boateng may be down an out with an injury right now, but in a new interview with Complex Sports, the Nike athlete says he's already making progress towards his own boot and hopes to eventually have his own shoe too.

When asked if he thinks he'll ever have his own Nike shoe, Boateng said "I think it's possible and we're already on the way. It would be great to have my own shoe when I come back," adding that if it does happen—and it sounds like it will—it would start with a soccer boot. However, Boateng also hopes to one day have his own lifestyle sneaker. "That would be dope," he said.

As for his personal collection, Boateng says he's over 600 pairs deep, a group that includes a mix of different brands and styles, most of which are Nikes. "My favorite sneakers growing up were always the Air Force 1 and the Air Max line. I started collecting when I was 13 or 14 years old," he said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Boateng shares the story of how it took him a year to track down Kanye West's Louis Vuitton collaboration, the first time he met Jay Z, and more. Check it out in full here
