Last Monday, the Oklahoma City Thunder fell to the Sacramento Kings in a home loss, but Kevin Durant managed to pick up a major W despite being sidelined with a toe injury.

During the game, Durant noticed 5-year-old Keaton Barron, a brave young fan who had powered through multiple rounds chemotherapy and managed to beat leukemia after a three-year battle. Barron held a sign that listed a few of his goals — beating cancer, planning a trip to Disney, and one that had yet to be achieved — meeting Durant himself.

Of course, Durant couldn't let Barron's wish go unfulfilled, and during halftime he visited the young man and his family to make his dreams a reality. The 2014 MVP even took it a step further, gifting Barron a pair of his game-worn and autographed Christmas Day Nike KD 8 sneakers.

Now, according to ESPN's David Purdum, the gifted kicks rest on Barron's s bookcase, but the young fan is already plotting on putting them to use: "I want to wear them when I get bigger."

The real MVP? We think so.
