Pensole Footwear Design Academy has been providing aspiring sneaker designers with hands-on experience since 2010, and now it's about to help them get their visions into stores.

More specifically, Pensole has once again partnered with Foot Locker for the 2016 "Fueling the Future of Footwear" Master Classes. Presented in collaboration with Under Armour and ASICS, these Master Class sessions will challenge participants to create their own shoes, a process that will be guided by Pensole founder and former Jordan Brand designer D'Wayne Edwards.

Furthermore, Pensole is bringing back its "World Sneaker Championships" for 2016, which will see a March Madness-like bracket of 64 potential finalists submitted by aspiring designers. Consumers will vote on their favorites in the field, while a panel of judges will choose one lucky concept to be produced and sold at Foot Locker locations worldwide.

Pensole's first 2016 Master Class is with Under Armour and runs from today through January 29 — sorry, applications are already closed for this one. Meanwhile, the ASICS course will begin this spring, with sign-ups opening to the public on February 15.
