Nearly 10 years ago, Australia’s Sneaker Freaker worked with Lacoste to release the magazine’s first ever sneaker collaboration. The SF x Lacoste Missouri 85 was a tasty vintage tennis shoe (with a cross-trainer-inspired fore strap) which featured bright mint highlights, a colour that would continue to feature in SF projects many years later. To commemorate this landmark project, the two have teamed up once again, bringing retailers FOTT (Russia), 24 Kilates (Spain) and Overkill (Germany) into the mix to create four different shoes to rep for every country that SF is now published in.

The headline Sneaker Freaker pair features the finest nubuck on offer from Lacoste, with the upper wrapped in shades of blue and grey and featuring pink highlights. The colour scheme continues all the way down to the outsole and is finished with a co-branded stitched insole. Similar to the release of their first collaboration at New York’s famed Alife Rivington Club , the SF team have taken the worldwide launch outside of their hometown Melbourne, this time at Sydney retailer, Above The Clouds on Thursday night. For those unable to make the in-store drop at 6:30pm AEST, the Missouri goes live on SF’s own webstore at the same time.

Swiss stalwarts Titolo slow it down this weekend after the in-store madness of their recent weekend of releases and are set to drop their icy-cool take on Le Coq Sportif’s R-1000 classic runner. Inspired by their enviable position close to the Swiss Alps, Titolo have made a great shoe for the Australian summer. Vibrant turquoise suede and nubuck covers the entire toebox, with the rest of the upper tastefully dressed in greys and whites, matching the rocks and pebbles found around the region.

The penultimate release in a year-long series celebrating the Gel Lyte III sees ASICS team with Hanon for a second shake down.​ Taking the simple colour-blocking scheme of their legendary 2008 ‘Wildcat’ collab, Hanon drape the shoe in smooth purple nubuck and blue suede, with 3M reflective materials on the famous ASICS Tiger Stripes. Subtle details include a bespoke perforated vamp set with 3M underlays, a co-branded tongue and a patterned lining that features the Hanon flame and Celtic knots. Finally, it wouldn’t be a true Hanon classic without the iconic Hanon flame stamped on the heel to give it a true collaboration feel. Sure to be one of the most coveted GL3 releases this year, these will definitely not last long.

True to form, Jordan Brand is set to whip the masses into a Black Friday frenzy with the return of the legendary Aqua VIII. Last seen in 2007, the 2015 spin keeps it closer to the 1993 OG model, with a more pronounced flint-grey heel panel than the all-black 2007 retro. Will this create some heated internet ‘debates’, much like last year’s ‘Infrared vs. Infrapink’ or will it be a complete non-argument, as this release is sure to sell out instantly around the globe? After a string of Jordan releases that haven’t really set the sneaker world on fire (the Jordan collaborations with Supreme and OVO excluded), it looks like Team Jumpman is back to put a stranglehold on the sneaker world leading into Christmas holiday madness. What a time to be alive.
