Everyone knows that President Barack Obama can hold his own on the basketball court, but aside from getting a fewpairs of Jordans ahead of their release dates, he's never really made much of an impact on sneaker culture. That is, until now.

For the latest Kobe X Elite colorway, Nike Basketball looks to Obama's on-court prowess, as well as his personal influence on Kobe Bryant, for a fresh POTUS-inspired look. In case you're wondering, this color scheme has been lifted from the colors of Honolulu, Hawaii's Punahou School prep academy, where Obama graduated in 1979. Aside from the colors of his alma mater, these are finished off with a dope presidential seal at the tongue.

This is the type of release that could have serious crossover appeal with non-sneakerheads, so don't expect these to necessarily be an easy cop. They Nike Kobe X Elite "Commander" is set to drop next week on October 14 for $225.
