James Harden's much-publicized adidas deal officially went into effect last Thursday, October 1, and to celebrate, the brand literally sent him truckloads of some of its best sneakers. On hand for the delivery was Nice Kicks editor-in-chief George Kiel, who spent some time picking Harden's brain on the milestone endorsement and what to expect from the partnership moving forward.

"I feel like myself and the brand can merge together and really make something special," Harden said. In reference to the 13-year contract, he sounds genuinely excited to grow and develop with adidas. "We're locked in for a long time, so there's going to be a lot of great things that happen with myself and the brand."

Meanwhile, 'heads who are thirsty for a Harden signature sneaker will be forced to exercise some patience. "That's not gonna happen overnight, it's gonna take some time, but I'm looking forward to working with the amazing adidas team and I'm sure they have a lot of great ideas they're just waiting to throw at me, and vice versa... I'm sure we'll cook up something pretty dope and exciting," he said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Harden spoke highly of his fellow NBA and adidas peers Damian Lillard and Andrew Wiggins, and also made mention of celeb endorsees like Pharrell Williams and Kanye West. "They have lots of positive energy going with Pharrell and Kanye. The Yeezy is a beast; I like how it was marketed, how it was branded, how it was just hard to get that shoe. If you got it, you had some swag to you," Harden said.
