It's impossible to ignore the relationship that basketball shares with sneaker culture. These two cultures overlap so much that now you can't even create a basketball video game without paying close attention to the sneakers that the players are wearing. EA Sports is a longtime player in the basketball video game space and recognizes the attention to detail that users pay to sneakers. With this in mind, the company called on custom sneaker legend Mache275 to create a pair of Air Jordan XX9s for the NBA Live '16 launch party.

This custom pair pays homage to NBA Live '16 and Jordan Brand athlete Russell Westbrook by painting an image of him on the right sneaker. The left sneaker features the recognizable EA Sports logo, making for a truly one-of-a-kind pair of basketball kicks. This custom art, combined with the in-game sneaker details, proves that NBA Live '16 properly recognizes the role sneakers play in today's game.

NBA Live '16 releases on September 29, 2015.
