Fans of the Jordan XVII haven't got a lot of love from the brand since its initial release in 2002. Aside from the Air Jordan XVII/VI "Countdown Pack" in 2008, the XVII has been absent from release calendars for over a decade. 2016 will mark the end of the drought with the Jordan XVII+"Copper" colorway set to drop.

This retro stays true to the original Jordan XVII+ "Copper" by not having the lace cover and having sleek croc skin material on the upper heel. The copper details are featured on the heel and eyelets.

It's an odd choice for Jordan to retro. The sneaker has never had a huge audience or call to be brought back outside of sneaker forums, but it's a welcomed break from the same few silhouettes that are continually re-released.

The Air Jordan XVII+ "Copper" is expected to release during the second quarter of 2016, according to Sole Collector.
