One of the best things about sneaker culture is that we all tend to gravitate towards different things. With so many choices available on store shelves — and digital shelves — there's truly something for everyone. And while us bloggers, influencers, and artists may possess the ability to shift the climate, there's no group with their finger on the pulse quite like the youth.

Review Journal recently caught up with some young ballers in Las Vegas to find out their thoughts on today's selection of signature basketball sneakers, and the results may surprise you.

"You win with these cause they look good, too. I feel like you play better when you look good," said a teenager on the topic of the Nike Kobe 10 Elite. Despite the fact that Kobe Bryant missed the bulk of last season, a majority of players agreed that the Kobe 10 Elite was at the top of its class.

LeBron James' latest, the $200 Nike LeBron 12, didn't fare as well. "Just too heavy. They're heavy and bulky," said a teenage player.

"The fit isn't right. Not worth it for a pair of shoes like that," added another.

Meanwhile, Under Armour's Curry 1 received positive feedback. "They fit like a glove and they're hot just because of how he played this year," said another player, proving sometimes it comes down to something as simple as who's killing it on the court.

Retro Jordans are still popping, too, as a handful of players cited models like the Jordan XI and III as their favorites. Off the court, sneakers like the Foamposite, Air Force 1, and Roshe Run are still in favor as well.
