UPDATE (August 28, 2:45 p.m.):

Although there has been talk that the first model we posted might not be Klay Thompson's signature shoe after all, it doesn't do much to change the fact that Klay looks completely unamused in nearly every photo we've seen of the unveiling.

Judging by the comments, most of our readers weren't feeling them either, but one has Reddit user pointed out that the sneaker actually looks "better" depending on which brand's logo is on it.

It's definitely an interesting perspective, but it probably has less to do with the brands themselves and more to do with the design and placement — the Under Armour and Nike logos work well because they fill out the upper better than the smaller logos, including the Anta logo seen on the originals.

UPDATE (August 27, 10:00 a.m.):

We've now spotted images of Klay Thompson and Anta unveiling a new white-based colorway of his signature sneaker, but it doesn't seem like it's done much to sway his opinion.

Like, c'mon fam, are you smelling the shoes or hiding your face in shame? Klay's out here looking like the spoiled kid who got an awesome birthday present but won't crack a smile because it's not the exact gift he wanted. He's really looking at these kicks like a waiter just brought him out the wrong plate of food.

Hopefully, they can get this whole thing squared away before the season tips off in October.

Golden State sharpshooter Klay Thompson has been killing it for years, and now the hard work has finally paid off as he's earned his very first signature sneaker with Chinese brand Anta.

The kicks were recently unveiled at a press conference, but Klay doesn't appear to be particularly thrilled with the result. His facial expressions tell the whole story, and to be honest, he looks genuinely offended. While most players dream of getting their own shoe one day, this probably isn't what he had in mind.

To make matters worse, Klay and Anta are getting absolutely roasted in the Instagram comments. It's safe to say that some things are better left on the cutting room floor, and it might be a good idea for Anta to re-evaluate this one before sending it to production.
