UPDATE (August 4, 5:17 p.m.):

The folks over at Sole Collector spoke to the kid who asked Michael Jordan, "What are those!?" His name is Bryce Lyle and he's 17 years old. “All these kids were asking the same kind of boring questions and I just wanted to spice it up and joke around a bit,” he told Sole Collector.

Lyle went on to say, "“I talked to my little brother and some friends about the [Q&A portion] at the beginning of the week. I told him I’m about to ask him, ‘What are those!?”

The rest of the interview can be read here.

There are a few people in every field that you don't step to. In the sneaker world, Michael Jordan would be at the top of that list. One kid, however, found the time to ask MJ one of the most embarrassing, yet comical, questions imaginable at his Flight School camp, when he blurted out, "What are those!?"

At the camp, Jordan was wearing two different pairs of unreleased Air Jordan XX9 lows. From the video, it's hard to tell what sneakers he had on, but the crowd erupted in laughter as Jordan looked stunned. Either he couldn't believe that he was asked that question, or he had no clue what the joke was, which is quite possible — he doesn't have a Twitter or Instagram account.

Watch the scene unfold below. But it begs to ask the question if kids have ever heard of Michael Jordan.
