Just as the "What the Doernbecher" Nike SB Dunk Highs began to eclipse the $100K mark, OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital has wiped the bids clean after what it calls "unusual bidding."

The Portland Business Journal spoke with a Doernbecher representative who confirmed that shill bids had been the cause of the restart. According to the rep, the new auctions will be subject to "stricter bidder processes to ensure fairness to sincere bidders," which means each bid will need pre-approval from Doernbecher.

We're only a couple hours into the new auctions, but the size 10 pair has already hit $10,000 with 18 bids. At this rate, those six digit figures might not be too far-fetched after all.
