The average sneakerhead would jump at the opportunity to chop it up with legendary designer Tinker Hatfield, but then again, Mayor is far from your average sneakerhead.
Sitting down once again with Sneaker Watch, Mayor shared the story of how he was able to help Nike prepare its presentations for Air Max Day back in March. He reveals that many of the pairs on display were actually borrowed from his own collection, which he says is more feasible for Nike to do than dig through thousands upon thousands of silhouettes in its archives.
But the real kicker comes when Mayor touches on his conversation with the design god Tinker Hatfield. "I told him, I was like... 'You're my number two, Bruce Kilgore is my hero, but you're a close number two.'" According to Mayor, Tinker simply laughed it off.
This guy truly gives no fucks, and we can't help but love him for it.
