For UNC fans, this past college basketball season might have been a little tough considering its men's basketball team fell short in the NCAA Tournament while its longtime rival - Duke - went on to win the chip.

But one thing UNC will always have over Duke is the fact that the greatest basketball player to ever to play the game is one of their own. In a recent posting on Instagram, Mache - one of the custom game's best, showcased his latest work on the iconic Air Jordan III. Working off a pair of "Powder Blues" as his canvas, Mache is quick to point out that there is a difference in shades between Powder Blue and "Carolina Blue" as he switched up the upper to correctly match UNC's signature hue. In addition, Mache's precise execution of the school's argyle pattern around the detail makes this a perfect compliment to the Air Jordan IV UNC PEs that collectors so highly covet.

With Jordan Brand having already confirmed the Air Jordan III going back to the vault, it might be awhile before we see another incredible custom on one of the shoe game's most beloved silhouettes.
