Every sneakerhead likes to brag about how they copped the newest "heat," but one high school student gave the phrase new meaning when he actually tried to trade his LeBrons for a gun.

It all went down at Springfield High School in Ohio, just hours away from King James' hometown in Akron. Police say two airsoft guns were recovered from the school after a group of students, ages 14 through 16, engaged in some rather surprising schoolyard commerce. One of the guns, a replica designed to mimic an MP-5 submachine gun, was traded for a pair of unnamed LeBron James sneakers.

"We treat these guns as real, we do not tolerate that in this school," said the school's superintendent. There's no word on what ended up happening to the LeBrons in question, but hopefully they were returned to their rightful owner.
