For the past few months, hype around the new sneaker brand Collegium Shoes has been building. Announced at the beginning of this year, Collegium was created by Nick Sisombath and a handful of other sneakerheads who wanted to herald a return to accessible quality footwear. California based Collegium utilizes the quality materials and construction that come out of Italy, with sophisticated profiles that are clean and unpretentious. Their first model, the Pillar Low, is a low top whose focus is on broad design and quality leathers.

The first run is limited to 100 pairs each in three colors, white (Bianco), red (Rosso), and black (Nero). Each pair is almost entirely tonal in its color blocking with gold hardware and waxed laces. Margom soles, leather and suede lining, and gold foil embossed logos finish the look.

It’s not every day that we get to witness the birth of new sneaker brands, especially ones that are as focused on competing with high level peer brands like Common Projects, while being made in the same region as Gucci and Prada. The full story of the brand can be caught on their website, but the presale starts today at 12pm PST (3pm EST). Each pair, limited to 100 per color, will retail for $325 US, but are $300 during the presale.
