Believe it or not, J. Crew—the New York-based purveyor of selvedge chambray shirts and slim Ludlow suits—has actually been putting out some of the most solid sneaker collaborations, with New Balance. Past releases like the “Independence Day” and “Concrete Jungle” NB 998s sold out relatively quickly—and demand a hefty aftermarket price. Now, J. Crew’s giving sneakerheads and menswear dudes double the trouble: Meet the “Indigo Flame” and “Cobblestone” New Balance 990s. Ideal for guys who prefer their style subtle or with a little pop, these suede and mesh sneakers will be hard to pass up (if you can even get your hands on them, that is).

The J. Crew x New Balance 990 V.1 pack, consisting of the "Indigo Flame" and "Cobblestone" sneakers, will retail for $190 per pair. They drop in in limited quantities at the J. Crew Liquor Store in TriBeCa and the Men's Shop in Boston's Copley Place on March 7 and online at jcrew.com on March 11.
